Premium Lounge, Ericsson Globe, Stockholm

Since opening in 1989, Ericsson Globe has not only been a hub for events in the Stockholm area, but also a natural focal point in the cityscape. It is the largest spherical building in the world. In spring 2016, in time for the Melodifestivalen music competition, the new and revamped Premium Lounge was opened, with access provided to exclusive visitors before sports and entertainment events.

The lounge’s acoustic false ceiling consists of PARAFON Palette in two different shades of blue and grey. The tiles were installed in a coloured grid system in a carefully designed pattern by contractor Dala Akustik. This was no ordinary installation project, as different parts of the ceiling are at different angles and the design required a high degree of precision. The ceiling gives an impression of comfort whilst also providing a good acoustic environment.
